About Working In The City

I used to think that working the city was not for me. Honestly this sounds crazy for a person who was born in the city and who's father has worked in one for YEARS! After all those years of living in the 'burds, I guess my mind was elsewhere. A recruiter once gave me a piece of advice. Work in the city for a few years (maybe 5) to get your bearings. It is a great life experience. So it took me a few years to realize that she was right. One day in the Fall of 2002 I decided to apply for a position in the city. Given the times, I did not really expect a call back. Needless to say, I did get a call back and rest is history. And for the record, I love it! I have had more than a few crazy train experiences (check out: stupidtrainrun.com), but overall, I cannot say it has been a boring year.
